Here are the images from Mindy & Sean’s Valentine’s Day engagement session. It was so cold, and it was raining & sleeting on us when we were shooting. Thanks for a great session & for toughing it out! I hope you agree when I say I think it was worth it!You two look great!
The Child Advocacy Center’s “A Chocolate Affair” last night was a huge success! If you came, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! If you missed it, I surely hope you’ll join us next year, as we plan for it to be an annual event! The CAC’s premiere fundraiser event was a chocolate tasting event, and I just don’t have words for how delicious it was… When I was helping decorate for the event Friday afternoon, I tried to see the evening’s events in my head, all set up. I’m so glad to say that the event turned out even more beautifully than I’d hoped! Here are some pictures from the evening. Enjoy!
As you entered the Atrium, you could go visit Sandy Herbert (The Perfect Cup) and grab a cup of coffee – Yummy! I love Sandy’s stuff. I was also glad to get to meet Will from Two Roads Cafe, who brought coffee & yummy treats, too. Here I am enjoying my coffee and goofing off with pal Vicki.
Here is the gorgeous ice sculpture, compliments of the Kake Haus, who also brought their yummy bakery items.
This was the first thing chocolate I tasted, and I loved it so much that I didn’t get to the others. It’s just heavenly! I don’t love chocolate like some people do, but I do like it to be good chocolate. I do not have words for this chocolate! It’s from Olive & Sinclair, awesome East Nashville chocolate makers. Their website is still under construction, so I’m sending you to their blog. Again, there are not words, people!
We had a cake from my uber-talented friend Gennifer Stueck – isn’t it gorgeous?! I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that it’s the best cake I can remember ever eating! It’s a chocolate cake with a turtle filling made of chocolate ganache, then a layer of chopped pecans, an a layer of creamy caramel. The icing is a chocolate swiss meringue buttercream covered in rich fondant. She uses farm-fresh eggs, and is all of her cake is homemade by her. Nothing comes from a mix. Her inspiration for this cake’s decoration came from the swatch of material below the cake. She custom-made the cake to match the material, even going so far as to hand-paint some of it on there with edible materials! Everything Gennifer does is homemade, and I’ll be sharing more with you in the future about Gennifer’s family’s other wholesome, homegrown enterprises soon.
Marino Music entertained us and made the atmosphere festive.
And here is our brand new group shot of the CAC’s Board of Directors. Back Row: William Glover, Marie Farley, Dr. Bill McKee, Jason Lawson, Tom Swink. Front Row: Me (Heather Wamble), Judy Jordan, Nancy Willis, Dr. Sharon Roberts, and our Executive Director, Deb Daugherty
Members of the local group of B.A.C.A (Bikers Against Child Abuse) came to help us and show their support.
We had a great time, and most importantly, “A Chocolate Affair” helped raise a lot of awareness about our Child Advocacy Center in our community. Hopefully, next years event will be even more of a blessing, and even more folks will come enjoy the festivities! It’s such a creative Valentine’s date, and it’s for such a good cause. I hope you’ll mark your calendars now for the next year’s “A Chocolate Affair”! I believe the date will be February 11, 2011. Here’s a pic of me and my Valentine from the evening. I’m so blessed to have such a great husband!
And finally, here is a slideshow of Yet To Be Photography’s coverage of the event. Thanks, everyone!
Last night I attended the Sandy Puc’ Family Tour Seminar, and it was so good, as Sandy always is! She is such a passionate person, and great photographer, and I love to learn from her. This is the third seminar I’ve attended of Sandy’s, and she just so good! I always learn so much from Sandy, and I can’t wait to start using some of the good stuff she shared with us. I went with photog friends Heather Graviss & Rebecca Walker, and we met up with other photog friend Amy Rich when we got there. Lots of fun!
Here’s a quick pick of us with Sandy’s pirate gear…. it’s scary, so brace yourself, ok?
One thing that Sandy shared with us last night was the Charity Model Search. Yet To Be is ready to take a part in this awesome opportunity, and we hope you are too! Like the Model Search last year, it benefits Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. If you know me at all, you know that this organization is very important to me, and I’m involved as a volunteer photographer. NILMDTS does such good for families who have experienced loss, and I know you’d love to take advantage of this. You can have a family portrait session with us, and help NILMDTS, all at the same time. And, if your family is the Cutest Family in North America, you could win a NEW CAR!!! For more information on the Model Search, visit www.sandypucmodels.com.

To help get 2010 off to an even better start, and to celebrate the new blog-site design, we’ve decided to have an awesome contest!
The winner will receive a FULL session, and $25 print credit! (That is a total value of over $150!)
We’ve selected some favorite images from sessions in 2009 that will be posted in a gallery on our Yet To Be Fan page on Facebook. The picture that has the most comments from individuals will be the winner! Ready?
Here’s how it will work: If you are on Facebook, and one of your images is in the 2009 Favorites Contest Gallery, you will need to get all of your friends to become fans of Yet To Be on Facebook. Only fans of Yet To Be Photography & Design on Facebook will be able to comment to vote for your image. Comments are counted per person. If your image is in the gallery, but you aren’t friends with Heather Wamble (the photographer) on Facebook, you will likely want to become her friend on Facebook, so that she can tag you in the photo to make it easier for your friends to find the contest.
EVERYBODY can be a winner! If you can help us reach 500 fans on Facebook, we’ll give every family in the gallery a $50 gift certificate. If we reach 1000 fans, the gift certificate amount per family comes up to $100! Sound good? Great! The contest will end February 18 at noon.
Another here’s another way to win: If you’re willing to put “I’m a fan of Yet To Be Photography, and you should be, too!” in your Facebook status with the link to the Yet To Be fan page and leave it there for 24 hours, we’ll give you a chance at a drawing for another $25 gift certificate! Leave it in your status for two whole days, and you’ll get a $50 gift certificate! Cool, huh?
If you have any questions, send Heather an email with the contact form on the blog. Good Luck!!!
Rules
1. If you are a client with a picture in the gallery, you will need to be Heather’s friend on Facebook to participate. (This way we can tag you in the photo.) 2. Only fans of Yet To Be Photography on Facebook will be able to vote. If your friends are on Facebook, and you want them to vote, they will need to become a fan of Yet To Be Photography & Design on Facebook in order to leave a comment under your photo.
Ready to go vote? Here’s the link the the gallery on Facebook!
Here’s the first of the “Year in Review” series! Since I didn’t keep up with putting sneak-peeks on the blog this past year, we’re going back and selecting session images to share with you now.
This session was in December with some sweet cousins. Their “MeMe” asked me to come to her home for a session with the kids while everyone was in town for the holidays. I’ve had the photographed all of these sweet kiddos before, but this time was the first time all together. Can’t you just feel the love?
